This is one of my favorite quotes and sums up my attitude for doing design for clients and painting just for myself. Painting allows me to apply all I have learned about color theory, imagery, and a host of other design principles over the past 20+ years as a print, web, graphic, UI, and UX designer to a medium where I am the sole arbitrator of what to create. It is allows me an unfettered creativity where I don’t I have make compromises do to time or resource restrictions.
